Dale is a Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy at Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, KY. Dr. Bertram has offered the AAMFT Pre-Approved Supervision Refresher Course for the state Associations for Marriage and Family Therapy in Kentucky, Alabama and Texas, as well as for private supervision clients. Additionally, he routinely presents on Erickson Clinicial Supervision, the Principles of MFT Ethics and is co-authoring a book on Ericksonian Supervision.

Mike is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor who has a private practice in Louisville, KY. Mike formerly was the Executive Director of the Kentucky Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He is a seasoned supervisor who routinely supervises a number of students and associates who are pursuing MFT licensure. Mike is an experienced workshop speaker, who has presented on MFT Ethics, Ericksonian supervision, and MFT supervision. He is currently co-authoring a book with Dr. Bertram on Eriksonian Supervision.

Tony is a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in Alabama and Kentucky. Tony is an AAMFT clinical fellow and AAMFT approved clinical supervisor. Tony is the clinical director of the masters in Marriage and Family Therapy program at Campbellsville University. Tony also provides clinical services through his private practice, Comprehensive Counseling Solutions, LLC, https://comprehensivecounselingsolutions.org/, located in Arab, AL. Tony utilizes his seventeen-plus years of clinical experience providing support for clients with suicidal ideation, couples with conflicted relationships, adolescents and adults with varying relationship, mental health and substance abuse disorders and children with behavioral problems.

As a trainer and consultant, Tony is a Master Trainer for Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR). Tony has provided AMSR training to thousands of mental health professionals and as a Master Trainer and provides T4T's to train new trainers. Tony consults with communities and organizations to create suicide-safer communities and provides training for professionals and non-professionals across the county.

KY Supervision for Board Approved Supervisors

This course is designed to meet the needs for: 1) AAMFT Approved Supervisors in good standing who must complete a one hour, board-approved, CE training on Kentucky Law. 2) Clinicians who have been licensed at least five years, and have completed a board approved supervision course (six-hour course). You must complete 2 hours of CE training in supervision and KY Law.

Six Hour KY Board Approved Supervision Workshop

We offer this six-hour on-demand workshop for those who want to become Kentucky LMFT Board Approved Supervisors. This meets the requirements in 201 KAR 32:035 for those who want to supervise Marriage and Family Therapy Associates. Please note that to be eligible to take this course you must have five years of post licensure experience with a minimum of 18 months of this experience being in Kentucky.

KY Law for Supervisors

This course is designed to meet the needs for: 1) AAMFT Approved Supervisors in good standing who must complete a one hour, board-approved, CE training on Kentucky Law. 2) Clinicians who have been licensed at least five years, and have completed a board approved supervision course (six-hour course). You must complete 2 hours of CE training in supervision and KY Law.

Description: Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based, client-centered counseling approach designed to strengthen an individual's motivation and commitment to change. This workshop introduces participants to the spirit, principles, and foundational skills of Motivational Interviewing, including engaging clients, exploring ambivalence, eliciting change talk, responding effectively to sustain talk, and strengthening commitment to change. Presented from a systemic perspective, this training highlights the influence of family, community, and social systems on behavior change while providing practical skills clinicians can immediately integrate into their clinical work. Description: Addictions and compulsions are often characterized by powerful internal polarizations. Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy model rooted in systemic and experiential family therapy traditions that provides clinicians with a framework for understanding and working with these internal conflicts. This introductory workshop reviews the history and development of the IFS model, explores key concepts including multiplicity of mind, managers, firefighters, exiles, and Self, and introduces practical applications for working with addictions and compulsions. Participants will engage in experiential learning and leave with a foundational understanding of IFS and practical interventions that can be incorporated into clinical practice. Description: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidence-based public health framework used to identify, reduce, and prevent problematic alcohol and substance use. This workshop builds upon the Motivational Interviewing skills introduced in Motivational Interviewing Basics and focuses on practical implementation of screening tools, brief intervention strategies, and referral processes. Participants will learn how to utilize screening instruments, including the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT), conduct effective brief interventions, determine appropriate referral pathways, and integrate SBIRT practices into a variety of clinical settings. Prerequisite: Prerequisite: Participants must register for and attend Motivational Interviewing Basics (July 6, 2026). Description: Building on concepts introduced in Part One, this workshop further develops clinicians' understanding of Internal Family Systems Therapy and its application to addictions and compulsions. Participants will review core IFS concepts and deepen their understanding of polarization, protectors, and the process of working with internal systems. Special attention will be given to the protocol for interviewing protectors and managers, practical demonstrations of IFS interventions, and discussion regarding next steps for clinicians interested in further developing their IFS skills. Description: Through lecture and micro-analysis of clinical videotapes, James Santos, MFTA, explores the core principles that underlie Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). AEDP is an attachment-based, neuroscience-informed psychotherapy model designed to help clients move from protection to transformation through healing relationships and emotional processing. Description: This is a 6.5 hour CE workshop. Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) for Outpatient Professionals is a 6.5-hour, evidence-based training that meets Kentucky’s requirement for all mental health professionals to complete suicide risk assessment education. Led by Tony Watkins, one of only three Lead Trainers with the Zero Suicide Institute, this course—previously listed on the now-retired National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP)—builds skills in recognizing, assessing, and managing suicide risk, and delivering effective, suicide-specific interventions for adults and adolescents. Designed for outpatient settings, AMSR provides practical tools, a shared language for coordinating care, and confidence in applying best practices. Training is delivered in two 3.5-hour sessions, with manuals mailed to participants (accurate ICET mailing address required), and offers 6.5 CE hours approved by the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Marriage and Family Therapists.
